Welcome to the official website of author Donald Johnson.
"American Sailors and U.S. Marines at War and Peace: Navy Sea Stories and Marine Corps Legacies" is the third and final book in a series of Navy and Marine sea stories. The first two had strictly Navy sea stories, but the author felt he needed to include Marines in his final book, paying tribute to an uncle who fought in Korea and a high school friend who died in Vietnam. He also includes the citations of those sailors and Marines who have earned the Congressional Medal of Honor since the end of the Vietnam war.
"American Sailor" is the second book of a series of Navy sea stories many of them by the author with others by long time Navy friends who wanted to see their stories in print. The author was privileged to publish their stories in his book. He also includes the citations of several sailors who had earned the Congressional Medal of Honor in Korea and Vietnam. "It Wasn't Just a Job; It Was an Adventure" is the first book of a series of Navy sea stories with many humorous stories. Sailors need a humor bone in their body to get through some of those long deployments. There are also some heart felt stories that will bring you back to the reality of war. " Am I a Good Daddy?" is the author's attempt at writing a non-fiction Christian book on fatherhood. He looks back at the mistakes he made at raising four daughters, 3 biological and 1 foster. He admits to what he did wrong and has actions for daddies to take if they want to try his suggestions. It is Christ-centered.
